Norway, officially known as the Kingdom of Norway, is located in Northern Europe on the Scandinavian Peninsula. The country also encompasses the Lofoten Islands, Svalbard, and Jan Mayen. Its capital is Oslo, while other major cities include Bergen and Trondheim. Norway is renowned for its spectacular fjords and breathtaking landscapes. The climate is temperate maritime in the south and turns colder as you head north. Summer is the best time to visit, with pleasantly mild temperatures. Home to about 5.3 million people, Norway shares borders with Sweden, Finland, and Russia.
