Botswana
Botswana, located in southern Africa, covers an area of 581,730 km² and is home to about 2.45 million people. The country is defined by its dry climate and elevated terrain, with the vast Kalahari Desert and sweeping savannas dominating the landscape. In the north lies the Okavango Delta, while the Makgadikgadi salt pans stretch across the northeast. The capital is Gaborone. Botswana’s economy relies on mining—especially diamonds—as well as tourism. English is the official language, while Tswana is the national language. The best time to visit Botswana is from May to September, when the weather is pleasantly cool and dry.
