Norwegian Air International

Norwegian Air International is an Irish budget airline, being a part of Norwegian Air Shuttle. This line operates more than 500 routes among more than 150 destinations. It serves the flights to European destinations from several airports in Finland, Denmark, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Its hub – the main airport – is the Dublin airport. Since 2017, the carrier offers few connections between Europe and the airports located on the East Coast of the United States, including airports in New York and Rhode Island. The average age of the aircraft in the Norwegian Air International fleet is only 3,6 years. The carrier claims that its fleet is one of the youngest and the most ecological in the world.

Luggage

Norwegian Air International offers free hand luggage to all of its passengers. It is important, however, that after fastening the last lock the suitcase fits into the weight and dimension limit. The limits depend on the booking class. As a part of the hand luggage, you can take one suitcase and one personal item for free, for example, a woman's handbag or the laptop bag. Checked luggage rules depend on the reservation class. In more expensive classes, additional suitcases are included in the ticket price, and in cheaper ones you have to pay extra. Checked luggage also has weight and dimensions restrictions. The useful tip: you can save up to 50% of the price, by buying your luggage online up to 6 hours before the flight.

Reservation class

The booking classes offer depends on the length of the flight. When buying a ticket for a short-haul flight, you may choose one of three booking classes: LowFare, LowFare+ or Flex, listed in order from the cheapest to the most expensive. The classes differ in the amount of the free luggage, booking a seat and the option of priority boarding. If you are planning a long-haul flight, you can opt for one of the two passenger cabins: economy or premium. The classes in the economy cabin are the same as for short-haul flights, while in the premium cabin you can choose Premium class or PremiumFlex class. The choice of the premium class means better amenities, as well as a higher price. Remember that before the flight you can always change your class to another one.

Online check-in

Norwegian Air National offers online check-in to all of the passengers. It is worth taking advantage of it, because this type of check-in takes less time, creates less stress and saves time spent in the airport queues. To check-in via the Internet, use the system provided by the carrier. Just prepare your booking number, enter it in the right place, and the system will guide you through the next check-in steps. When the process is completed, the boarding card will be generated. This is a very important document, entitling you to board on the departure day, so make sure you keep it is a safe place and do not forget to take it with you to the airport. You can have it with you in paper or electronic form.

Fleet

The carrier claims on its website that its fleet is one of the youngest and the most modern in the world. The average age of aircraft is in Norwegian Air National is only 3,7 years. Planes flying in the line colors consume less fuel than many other models, bringing lower ticket prices and more environmental benefits. In 2015, Norwegian Air International was awarded the title of the most fuel-efficient airline operating on transatlantic routes. Among the 150 machines used by the airline, there are such models as Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Another 200 machines are waiting to join the fleet. In addition to the currently used models, there is also an Airbus A321 Long Range, as well as Airbus A320.

Dublin airport

Dublin airport is the international airport located in the capital city of Ireland and it is the Norwegian Air International’s hub. It is located 10 kilometres north of the city center. It has two terminals, being intensively modernized in the last 20 years. You can get there by bus, taxi or train, there is also a well-developed network of more than 700 buses and coaches. Passengers willing to travel by taxi should head outside the terminals, where they can find some taxi stands. You can opt for train travel as well. Even though there is no direct train connection from the Dublin airport, there is plenty of intercity and suburban connections with many buses.

Meals

During the majority of the flights with Norwegian Air International, you can have a snack in the onboard bar. There is a wide variety of sweets, salty snacks and drink. However, if your international flight lasts longer and you would like to eat something bigger, you should order your meal in advance, so that the stuff has time to prepare it. Remember, that if you wish to do so, you should buy the ticket in the class offering this option. Every passenger is given three meals onboard. When ordering, you can choose the meal you find the tastiest.

Additional services

In Boeing 737-800 passengers have access to free Wi-Fi and live TV onboard. These services are available on the majority of the European routes and on the USA-the Carribean route. Passengers may also use the service “video on demand”. In Dreamliners in addition, every passenger has a touchscreen, on which one can watch TV, play games or track the route on the interactive 3D map. If you travel by Dreamliner, you don't have to use your own devices thanks to the onboard entertainment system. However, if there is a low battery in your mobile phone or tablet, you can charge it using USB. If you get hungry, order a meal online, and the stewardess will bring it to you.
