ASKY Airlines

Asky Airlines is a low-cost airline operating in Africa with a base at Lome airport in Togo. In the IATA code, the airline is listed under the letter abbreviation KP. This airline was established by West African governments in 2008, filling the void in the region. The company is 80% owned by private investors, while the remaining shares are in the hands of the founding governments.
The first commercial flight took place in 2010. Currently, the airlines operate in 23 destinations, mainly on short and medium-haul routes in West Africa. The connections also include other major airports throughout the rest of Africa, but the planes fly only within this continent. It is worth mentioning the cooperating carrier with Asky Airlines - Ethiopian Airlines, with whom agreements have been signed of partnership. These airlines are also considered the founding organization of Asky Airlines.

Baggage on board Asky Airlines

All passengers who choose to fly with African Airlines can take their hand luggage on board of Asky Airlines. The dimensions and weight of the hand baggage are strictly defined and must not exceed 55cm in length, 25cm in width, and 40cm in depth. Depending on the Asky Airlines flight class, the cabin baggage may weigh 7 kg in Economy Class or 10 kg in Business Class. If you wish to transport more things, you can take an additional suitcase.

The maximum length of Asky Airlines' checked-in baggage is 90 cm and its width may not exceed 53 cm. Also, the weight of the suitcase is strictly defined and must be within the 30 kg limit for Economy Class, while in Business Class, the upper limit is 40 kg. In Asky Airlines, baggage is covered by similar regulations as in other airlines. Much attention is paid to the ban on transporting animals and animal products, and in some countries also food.

Booking classes on Asky Airlines

On most of the flights operated by Asky Airlines, booking classes can be selected from two variants: commercial and business. With Asky Airlines Economy Class, passengers can enjoy ergonomic seats that ensure a comfortable journey even on indirect routes. For longer flights, meals and refreshments are served during the course. Different menus are tailored to the time of flight and can be breakfast, lunch, snack, or dinner. Passengers can also purchase duty-free products, which are available in the onboard catalog.

The passengers who chose Asky Airlines business class have a little more space on the flight. The seats are over 60 cm wide and can turn into a support hammock if necessary. The space between the seats is so ample that the unfolded seats do not affect the privacy of other passengers. Also, a woolen blanket and a pillow have been prepared for each flight participant to take a nap during the flight more pleasant. Meals are served on similar terms as in economy class.

Online Check-in

One of the most significant disadvantages of these airlines is there is no online check-in with Asky Airlines. Therefore, all the formalities must be completed upon arrival at the airport. The carrier suggests that you should arrive at the airport at least one hour before your planned flight with Asky Airlines. Check-in will consist of providing your data, printing out your boarding pass, and, if necessary, checking in your baggage.

Aircraft fleet

A small number of flights are operated by about ten aircraft with an original Asky Airlines logo. The majority of the plane are American Boeing 737-700, which can accommodate 115 passengers, and Boeing 737-800, which can take up to 154 passengers. The fleet of Asky Airlines has also been enhanced by the British Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 aircraft, which has been borrowed from Ethiopian Airlines. It has a capacity of fewer than 70 passengers, and the cabin for business class passengers is completely separated from the other seats providing greater comfort and a sense of intimacy for relaxation.

Additional services

Passengers choosing Asky Airlines' air tickets can enjoy meals on board as well as cold and warm drinks. Each passenger receives an in-flight magazine from which to buy perfume or souvenirs, as well as meals and snacks. Business-class ticket holders have the opportunity to use the airport's press lounges where they can relax or work in peace.

Asky Airlines operates a loyalty program for its loyal customers who seek cheap flights with this carrier. As a result, passengers earn points at Asky Club for frequent travels with this carrier. There are four membership levels marked with colors: brown, silver, gold, and black. Passengers being the highest black level members can benefit from a more substantial hand luggage limit of up to 20kg when traveling.
