BOOKING CLASSES

Each of the RwandAir Express aircrafts is equipped with economy and business class. It is worth noting that some machines also have places defined as premium economy class, which can be indirectly compared to business class. Besides the difference in the ticket price and baggage, there are specific seats, whose passengers have shorter waiting time for boarding and leave first after reaching their destination.

Reservations can be made at the airline offices, tourist agencies and through the company's infoline. You can also book via the company's website.

ONLINE CHECK-IN

When the moment of check-in comes after purchasing the flight tickets, RwandAir offers two possibilities of check-in. The simplest method is online check-in. You can also check in directly before departure at the airport. To this end, it should be remembered that in the case of international flights, you should appear at the airport 3 hours before the planned trip. For domestic flights this time is shorter by one hour. It’s good to know that check-in closes an hour before the flight, except for travel to Dubai and Lagos, where the time is one and a half hours.

When checking in, you must be carrying identification documents and full documentation that will allow you to travel to your destination, such as a visa.

BAGGAGE

Every passenger using RwandAir Express low-cost airlines is entitled to unchecked hand baggage with dimensions 55x38x20 cm below 10 kg. The exception is a trip to Johannesburg, where the permitted weight of hand baggage is 7 kg. Additional non-chargeable baggage is:

  • Coat
  • Handbag
  • Umbrella or walking stick
  • Small laptop
  • Foldable baby stroller

When traveling with a child, you can carry a bag with all necessary items such as bottles, diapers and milk. Such baggage is not charged if it is below 12 kg. Rwandair Airlines also allow free transport of a fully folded wheelchair or crutches only if the passenger is dependent on them.

When purchasing air tickets, you can register two or three pieces of baggage. Their weight and quantity depend on the choice of the passenger’s class. The economy class is entitled to two pieces of baggage, 23 kg each, the premium economy class is permitted two pieces of baggage, 32 kg each. In the case of business class, passengers are entitled to three pieces of baggage, 23 kg each.

If checked baggage exceeds the limit you should expect an additional excess baggage fee. The rate depends on the place of departure and the passenger’s destination.

The main seat of RwandAir Express is Kigali Airport located 12 km from the city of Kigali and recognised as the largest airport in Rwanda. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

RwandAir Express has a loyalty programme called Dream Miles. It consists in collecting miles during the calendar year, thanks to which you can upgrade your card status from diamond to emerald. Each card has specific benefits, so you can often purchase a free ticket or pay for baggage.

The airlines has also thought of the youngest passengers, for whom they have created the Dream Miles Junior package. It operates on the same principles as the adult programme; however, it is intended for beneficiaries in the age range of 2 to 16 years.

When buying airline tickets, it is worth checking the allocated seating positions which are determined randomly, unless the passenger purchases access to a specific seat. Traveling families can submit a special application for sitting side by side. Such reservations can be made via the website or by phone. You may also submit the application at the check-in desk, however, in this case, its positive consideration will depend on the availability of free seats.

All flights on behalf of RwandAir Express are intended for non-smokers.
