Cook Islands
The Cook Islands are a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand, located in the southern Pacific Ocean in Polynesia. The archipelago consists of 15 atolls and islands, including Rarotonga—the largest and only volcanic island, home to the capital, Avarua. Around 17,000 people live here, predominantly Polynesians who speak both English and Polynesian languages.
