Oslo
Oslo, the capital of Norway, lies in the south-east of the country on the Oslofjord. The city has more than 700 thousand inhabitants, and the wider metropolitan area almost a million. Oslo's history goes back to 1048, when it was founded by Harald III. Today it is Norway's key economic and cultural centre. The Opera House, the Munch Museum and Vigeland Park are all worth a visit. The climate is temperate, with cool winters and mild summers. The best time to visit is the summer months.
